Our mission

No veteran family in our three counties should lose their home, their car or their footing because of one hard month. We step in fast, with a grant, a mentor or a job lead, and we stay until they're steady. Homefront Bridge was started in 2015 by four veterans who had been on both sides of that phone call.

What we do

  • Emergency grants Rent, utilities or a car repair, paid straight to the bill, usually within 72 hours.
  • Battle buddies A trained veteran mentor who calls every week for the first year after service.
  • Career bridge Résumé help, mock interviews and introductions to employers who hire veterans.
  • Family nights A free dinner every month for veterans, spouses and kids.

Stand with a veteran family

Every gift stays in our three counties. Give once, or join the monthly donors who make sure we can say yes when the phone rings.

Veteran-led

Our founders served in the Army, Navy and Marine Corps. Seven of our nine board members are veterans, and every mentor has worn the uniform or loves someone who did.

Volunteer with us

Mentor a veteran, cook for family night, or drive someone to a job interview. An hour a month makes a difference.

Stories

  • Our transmission died the week I started a new job. Homefront paid the shop on a Tuesday. I didn't miss a day. Army veteran, Mill Run
  • My battle buddy called every Sunday for a year. Some weeks that call was the only thing that went right. Navy veteran, Old Town
